About Me

Who Am I?

My name is Patrick. I am an accountant, a husband, and probably the most important, a father of two kids. My wife and I had our little boy, Seth, in the summer before our junior year of college. Needless to say, it was a challenge to raise a child while trying to pursue our degrees. It got to the point where getting 5 hours of sleep felt like sleeping in! After we graduated, my wife was pregnant with our second child. We found out that we were having a girl so we named her after my grandpa (well, we used his middle name- Fable). She was born in January 2013, my final year of grad school. Nothing teaches a person quite like experience, amiright?

Anyways, as for myself, I am an avid football fan. I played it in high school and a little bit in college (though it was division 3 and I was essentially a tackling dummy). Once Seth came along, though, it was time to hang up the cleats. I do enjoy being physically active. When people see that, they may think of an extremely fit person. Well, unfortunately, I also like food… a lot! I also like going out to eat which only thins out my wallet a bit more while increasing the spare tire under my shirt. It’s just so nice to have other people prepare the food for you. It’s fun to yell “Hey servant!” at the waiters too (okay I’ve never done that before). I’m a huge nerd for Star Wars (Han shot first!) My all-time favorite series, however, is Harry Potter. So as a recap- football, working out, eating, Star Wars, and Harry Potter.

My Qualifications for Giving Advice

My degrees in college was in accounting. I am not a marriage counselor nor have I received any sort of marriage and family counseling certificate. It is because of those reasons I feel qualified to run this site. I see it as a normal dad trying to raise his kids the best ways he sees fit. While we may read articles about a certain tactic that will turn your child into that straight-A know-it-all, us parents know that kids are completely different that what the articles say they are. It’s like they read the articles beforehand and decided to do the exact opposite.

It is my hope that anyone who visits this site looking for advice will find it. If they don’t then leave a comment or a tip!

Have a great day!

Patrick
